
Odisha State has announced initiatives to reform school education to reduce dropout rates in high schools. The dropout rate rose to 15% in classes IX and X during the 2024-25 academic year. Boys had a higher dropout rate of 17.3%, and girls 12.5%. The learning outcomes have been affected by the lack of teachers and infrastructure, with 90,000 teacher vacancies lying unfilled.
