IIT Hyderabad has been in the forefront in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. It has so far incubated more than 125 startups generating a revenue of Rs 800 cr and creating more than 1000 jobs. IITH conducted a Future Inventor's Fair for school children for the first time and received more than 130 nominations. Twenty- two teams were shortlisted to display their innovations on April 13th, 2023.

Some of the innovation included measuring toy, smart helmet, smart dustbin, automated drainage cleaner, multi tasking robot, road cleaner, disabled and elderly friendly walking stock, calamity control droid, electricity generation form speed breakers. The display was done by participants from various schools in Telengana.

IITH also celebrated the 15th Foundation Day on April 14, 2023. Chief Guest was Dr Krishna Ella (Padma Bhushan), Executive Chairman of Bharat Biotech. The Foundation Day lecture was delivered by him on the theme, Innovations and Entrepreneurship: India Next Century Hub.
