Fidgeting & Creativity in Children

When middle school children move in their seats or move their hands and feet restlessly, they may not be distracted but focussed, creative & attentive in class.

Fidgeting, which involves movement of hands and body in a restless manner, may be a sign of creativity, according to researchers at Stanford University. A study was conducted among sixth and seventh graders. Those who fidget at their desks and move freely in the seats came up with more creative ideas.
