Traits Babies Inherit from Father

Babies inherit genes from their parents, and that determines their personality to a greater extent. While it is the genes from the father that determine whether the baby would be a girl or boy, the role of his genes does not stop here. Here are a few traits that kids are likely to inherit from their fathers:

*Eye colour:

It is believed that dark-coloured eyes (like brown) are a dominant trait. That means if either of the parents has brown-coloured eyes, the kid is likely to inherit the same colour. But here’s the twist. If the father has a recessive eye colour like blue, green or grey, the baby will inherit the eye colour from him.

*​Lips:


Fuller lips are considered to be a more dominant trait and if the father has them, the kid is going to have plump lips as well.

*​Hair:

The logic remains the same as in case of the eye colour. Father’s genes play a major role in determining the kid’s hair texture and if he has darker hair, the baby is likely to inherit them.

*Sense of humour:


Okay, we don’t inherit sense of humour but the kid surely picks up from the father if he has a funny bone. 

​*Sleeping style:

The way the baby sleeps is also generally inherited from the paternal side. 

​*Height:


If the father is tall, the baby is likely to grow up to be of the same height. If the mother is short and the father is tall, the child is yet expected to have a good height.

​*Fingerprints:

No two people can have the exactly same fingerprints. But interestingly, there can be similarities in the pattern of whorls and lines of the father and the kid.

*Teeth:


If the baby’s father is prone to cavities and other teeth issues, the baby is likely to inherit them as well. In fact, the baby gets his/her teeth structure from the paternal side as well.

*Dimples:

Babies are most likey to inherit the dimple from their father.
