Teacher shall help Students to Collaborate!
Teachers shall promote a synergy among students in a class. When students are collaboratively working among each other, they get to know the strength of their peers. This enables the students to analyze self as well as others. This will help the students to improve their academic as well as personal achievements. Peer acceptance is the primary requirement of each student according to research studies. Let’s take an example of our own kid saying, “My friend Riya is so brilliant”. Generally, students of all ages quote their friends to be the best among the class. This is an example of peer acceptance. Sometimes the kid has the attitude of modelling this friend who is best in class according to other students. Prof. Wentzel and his associates studied the relationship among peer group acceptance and academic achievement among students. The result of the study showed that positive peer group always leads the students into great academic achievement as well as personal achievement. This attitude of accepting others will lead to develop an attitude to give reinforcement. The climate of the class shall be fashioned in such a way that the students give positive motivations to each other. This shall help them in the long run.
