Survey Finds that Digital Workspace becomes Top Tech Priority in Education

Policy Indications

According to a new report from IT infrastructure provider, Softcat, the majority of education-related organizations are putting digital workspace improvements above all other technological priorities. Digital workspaces are designed to bring all of a user’s digital resources into a single place and be managed via any device and from any location, irrespective of whether the information is stored in a data centre or in the cloud. Softcat MD, Richard Wyn Griffith states that an appreciation of their worth grew exponentially during the pandemic-enforced switch to remote learning and teaching, and is unlikely to lessen in a post-Covid world.

Looking at a sector level, the report reveals 80% of organizations in the education sector are now prioritizing Digital Workspace solutions above all other technology areas. Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the planning, provision, and delivery of education, accelerated further by the COVID-19 pandemic and government-ordered restrictions on in-person teaching. Exceptional user experience and frictionless workflows are becoming key to supporting students and employees to work easier, from anywhere, requiring investment in new Digital Workspace solutions.
