Robots to Taste Beer

Technology Inceptions

Robots built with components sourced from Lego toys will be used to assess beer quality for 15 colour and foam-related parameters. Presently, quality checks are done by human volunteers.

The RoboBeer works with two Lego servo motors. It has three sensors to measure temperature, carbon dioxide gas release and alcohol. It also incorporates a smart phone, which record videos of 5 minutes duration of the pouring to assess the quality of the foam.
