No PGDM in MBA Colleges

Policy Indications

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) cannot be conducted in the same institution, according to a new guideline issued by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). According to the recent communique, Central/State, private universities or deemed universities that are running PGDM programmes concurrently with MBA are requested to convert PGDM courses to MBA to comply with norms. The move is to eliminate confusion caused by institutes running master's as well as diploma programmes in the same place. Some universities have added PGDM course under the banner of 'Management Programme' which is in contravention of norms.
