Learn the Techniques to give the Right Feedback to the Students!
Pointing out the same mistakes again and again will not help the students to improve. Instead, they would be critical about the teacher who is always negative and always finds fault with whatever they do. Teachers should refrain from making such mistake. Instead, there are other strategies that the teachers can adopt to give right feedback to the children.
*Asking question than correcting:
If you see that the student is making the same mistakes again, instead of taking the pain to correct one more time, ask him/ her to find out what is wrong with the particular sentence or passage. Let him/her figure out the mistake and correct it so that he/she will not make the same mistake again.
*One to one:
Instead of giving collective feedback or announcing the errors, arrange for a one to one session so that the student will understand how much care he/she is getting from the teacher. Always initiate the feedback on a positive note.
Seek the peer help. Make use of group activities where one group can give feedback for the other. One to one peer feedback also will work well.
*Share your own mistakes:
To show students that nobody is above feedback, including their teacher, share the incidences of your mistakes with them. You can try out giving a copy of your own written material to the students and ask them to correct it.
