Japanese Government Invites Research Students for Scholarship Program 2020

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) is offering scholarships to Indian students for pursuing graduate courses at Japanese university as research students (either regular students or non-regular students) under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program 2020. The subjects, courses and eligibility conditions are as follows:

(A) Japan related Humanities (B) Japan related Social Science (C) Mathematical Science (D) Physics (E) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (F) Biology and Biotechnology (G) Agriculture and Fishery (H) Environmental Science (I) Pharmaceutical Science (J) Geology and Geoinformatics (K) Civil Engineering (L) Architecture (M) Material Science I Engineering (N) Electrical Engineering (0) Electronics & Communications Engineering (P) Mechanical Engineering (Q) Aerospace Engineering (R) Robotics (S) Information Technology (1) Sports Science

Courses and eligibility:

i). For Research Student I Master's Degree:

Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. The candidates should obtain their mark sheet and degree on or before 31st March 2020 for April 2020 batch and 30th September 2020 for October 2020 batch.

i i). For Ph.D. Degree:

Master's degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. Candidate having practical research/teaching/work experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification on or before 31st March 2020 for April 2020 batch and 30th September 2020 for October 2020 batch.

i ii) For Research Student I Master's degree in Japanese Language:

a) Students who have completed Bachelor's degree I Master's degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized university.


b) Students who have completed Bachelor's degree course in any subject from a recognized university and obtained N2 Certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLP1) conducted by the Japan Foundation.

iv) For Ph.D. degree in Japanese Language:

Students who have completed Master degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized  university

1. Age: The applicants must be under the age of 35 (born on or after April 2, 1985).
