IIT Madras Tops in NIRF 2019 Overall Rankings

IIT Madras has come on top in the 2019 National Institutional Research Framework (NIRF) rankings of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). IIT Madras was set up in 1959 and is a leading institute in higher technological education, basic and applied research. 
The other institutes that have come in the top 10 in the order of ranking are: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT, Kharagpur, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati and Benaras Hindu, University, Varanasi.

Among the univetsities, the top ten are IISC,Bengaluru, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, The Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi, University of Hyderabad, Univeristy of Calcutta, The Jadavpur University, Anna University, Chennai, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Among colleges, the top positions went to Miranda House, Delhi, Hindu College, Delhi, The Presidency College, Chennai, St.Stephen's College, Delhi, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi, The Loyola College, Madras, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Madras, The Hansraj College, Delhi and St Xavier's College Kolkatta.
