Google to Challenge iMessage with Chat!

Technology Inceptions

iMessage is expected to face a strong rival from Google through its new android ‘Chat’ based on Rich Communication Services (RCS) messages. The RCS-based Chat will enable features that aren’t available with SMS text messaging. It is, however, similar to Apple’s iMessage system.

The features include read receipts, Face Time for video calls, group conversations, and text messages sent over Internet. Google started out with Google Talk and followed it up with hangouts, Allo and Duo.
