Enhance facial beauty with exercises not cosmetics

Teacher Insights

New research has proven that exercises can enhance facial looks and therefore a healthier alternative to cosmetics.

The results were reported by Murad Alam, Anne J Walter, Amelia Geisler of Northwestern University based on a study of 16 middle aged women. They performed exerises daily for 30 minutes for 20 weeks. The volunteers were assessed for 19 facial features using Merz-Carruthers Facial Aging Photoscales. Those who took the exercises had enhanced lower cheek and upper cheek fullness. The reported satisfaction levels of the volunteers were also higher.

The researchers pointed out that a study based on a larger sample may confirm the beneficial effects of facial exercises on ageing and reduce dependence on toxic or harmful cosmetics to enhance beauty.
