Emotions of Teachers Play a Vital Role in Mathematics!

It is said that one should love the subject s/he is learning, as a result it will be easy in studying it. So far, this statement was not scientific but now it has been researched in the discipline of Mathematics. Prof. Lars and associates found that if you are anxious in subject then the knowledge shall be less imbibed.

The researchers have scientifically proved that a decline of mathematics anxiety, an increase of enjoyment and mathematics content knowledge and mathematics pedagogical content knowledge.  No such relationship between emotions and knowledge over time were found. The study was done among early childhood teachers of Mathematics. The teachers’ mathematics content knowledge, mathematics pedagogical content knowledge, mathematics anxiety, and enjoyment of mathematics were the variables in study. If the teacher had less anxiety, the more s/he enjoyed the subject. If the teacher enjoys the subject, it can be imbibed by the students and as a result students tend to love the subject.
