Despite Supreme Court Order, this Varsity Makes Aadhaar mandatory!

New Delhi: Lucknow Varsity makes Aadhaar mandatory for PG admission, despite the order from the Supreme Court. The online form on the Lucknow University website cannot be submitted unless the aspirant fills in the Aadhaar details. The Supreme Court had issued an interim stay on Aadhaar's requirement for entrance exams like the NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test ).

The Lucknow University (LU) is insisting on its aspirants for Aadhaar number in its online application form for PG admissions. The students can't proceed further without filling the Aadhaar number. 

"Applicants who do not have their Aadhaar card have to apply for one and fill the LU form using the option of Aadhaar Card enrolment number and later on have to update the actual number when they get it," as per a form-filling guidelines published on the varsity's website.

Talking to IANS, Lucknow University Registrar Raj Kumar Singh said although Aadhaar is "compulsory", an aspirant can speak to the Admission coordinator in case he or she doesn't have it.
