Crime Busting Smart App

A new crime busting smart app enabled by AI has been developed by researchers at Macquarie University. The device can compile and analyse huge data sets generated from devices connected to the internet or Internet of Things (IoT). Such data may include CCTV-images, vehicle license plates and audio recordings, as well as photos and videos from witnesses. It links this to historical police data to help investigators to make better decisions. This innovation would assist in data-driven and knowledge-intensive criminal investigation cases such as fraud and homicide, where real-time data analytics could be vital, and assist with the timely response to missing person reports.
