AI to Make Abu Dhabi Schools Safer
The 15 charter schools of Abu Dhabi have decided to implement artificial intelligence (AI) and smart school multi-systems to make schools safer for children. Education regulator Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) is partnering with Hong Kong-based AI firm SenseTime to implement security. It will use advanced motion sensors, facial recognition technology, crowd management monitoring and augmented reality to make school premises safer and healthier. The new system will be able to provide early learning alerts of disruptive behaviour or bullying. It will also track compliance with health standards and Covid-19 precautionary measures. The authorities said that there cannot be any complacency when it comes to the wellbeing, health and safety of students. AI-driven smart technology is an obvious choice considering cost-effectiveness and availability.
